The students have started on Doubles plus one. It is a concept we will continue to work on until we master the idea. Encourage them to stick with it! Ask if you need help teaching the concept at home.
We continue to work on a sampling of both addition and subtraction problems while also working on money, both recognizing and counting it as well as continuing with time.
Please encourage your child to write with lowercase letters within their first and last name with focus on nice lines.
We are working towards greater length of writing pieces as well as using detail within our writing.
Each week, we will have spelling words which have a theme based on the phonetic lesson we are learning that particular week. Please practice these words with your child as it will help them with their reading throughout the year.
*See below for a list of Spelling Words*
I hope the reading logs are working well with motivating your child to read at least 15 minutes each night. Continue to work on the sight word flashcards and booklets at your child's individual pace.
Please keep encouraging your child to read nightly.
Memory Verses are provided monthly and due to be tested on each Friday. Students must know the proper wording as well as the book of the Bible and verse numbers.
"The Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost." Luke 19:10
"The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich and love." Psalm 145:8
"God, be merciful to me, a sinner!" Luke 18:13
